John Turner Selected For England Men’s White-Ball Tour Of The Caribbean
Hampshire pace bowler John Turner is included in England Men’s 14-player squad for their ODI and IT20 series against the West Indies
Hampshire pace bowler John Turner has been called up to England Men’s white-ball tour of the Caribbean.
Turner, who is yet to make his international debut, was part of England Men’s white-ball squads for their IT20 and ODI series against Australia earlier this summer, and received his first international call-up in December 2023, also for a tour of the West Indies.
He was Hampshire Hawks’ leading wicket taker in the 2024 Vitality Blast with 15 wickets whilst he also claimed five wickets in four matches for Trent Rockets in the Hundred.
Born in Cape Town but studying at Exeter University, Turner came through the Hampshire youth pathway and made his senior debut for the club in 2021, dismissing Alastair Cook for his first professional wicket in the Royal London Cup.
On T20 debut in 2023, Turner picked up two wickets in his first over, against Middlesex at Radlett, and ended his first Vitality Blast campaign with 21 wickets from just 11 matches.

Jos Buttler is set to return for the white-ball tour of West Indies having missed the recent Vitality IT20 and Metro Bank ODI series against Australia as he continued his recovery from a calf injury.
Turner is one of three uncapped players in the squad, along with Yorkshire leg spinner Jafer Chohan and Warwickshire all-rounder Dan Mousley.
The initial 14-player squad selected will be supplemented with two players from the Test squad in Pakistan.
A decision on the two players to join the white-ball squad in the Caribbean is to be made after selection for the third Test in Rawalpindi, which begins on Thursday 24 October.
England Men will play West Indies in three ODIs and five IT20s during the three-week tour of Antigua, Barbadso, and St Lucia.
