Kyle Abbott will represent Jaffna Stallions in the Lanka Premier League’s (LPL) inaugural season.
The T20 competition – which sees five sides contest 23 matches across three weeks in Hambantota, Sri Lanka – began yesterday with Kyle and Jaffna Stallions getting their campaign underway today (Fri 27 Nov).
Kyle is available for the entire competition with Jaffna Stallions facing each of the other four sides – Colombo Kings, Kandy Tuskers, Galle Gladiators and Dambulla Viiking – twice in the competition’s group stage. The top four sides then progress to the semi-finals ahead of the competition’s final on Wednesday 16th December.

Dawid Malan was due to represent Jaffna Stallions alongside Kyle but had to withdraw given his involvement with England’s white-ball tour of South Africa, although Nottinghamshire’s Tom Moores will feature for the Stallions.
There’s Hampshire interest elsewhere in the competition too with former batsman Owais Shah Head Coach at Dambulla Viiking and former overseas star Shahid Afridi captaining Galle Gladiators.
