Lauren Bell Heading To Inaugural Women's Premier League
Southern Vipers fast bowler Lauren Bell has been bought by UP Warriorz ahead of the first ever Women's Premier League competition
Southern Vipers fast bowler Lauren Bell will jet off to India to play for UP Warriorz in the inaugural Women's Premier League (WPL).
Bell, 22, was bought by INR 30 lakh, approximately £30,000, by the Warriorz which will be led by England Women's head coach Jon Lewis.
The swing bowler took five wickets in the 2022 Charlotte Edwards Cup, and made her international debut in the Test match between England Women and South Africa at Taunton in May 2022.
Bell subsequently went on to win caps in all three formats, and took 14 wickets in England's tour of the West Indies in December 2022, nine of which came in IT20s.
Most recently, Bell took her first ever World Cup wicket where she dismissed Ireland's Arlene Kelly for one, as England bowled Ireland out for 105 in their second match of the 2023 Women's T20 World Cup.
