Hampshire’s Pre-Season Calendar Confirmed
Hampshire’s men and women will be going on tour in March with trips to Stellenbosch and Desert Springs, and five warm up matches
Hampshire Cricket are delighted to announce that wicket-keeper batsman Lewis McManus has signed a new contract extension with the club.
McManus, who began at the club by representing the club’s age-group, Academy and Second XI sides, has committed his future to the The Ageas Bowl until at least the end of the 2020 season.
The 25-year-old has gone on to make 111 first-team appearances so far since making his first-class debut in 2015, totalling more than 2,200 runs and 146 dismissals in that time.

Following his debut campaign four seasons ago, the gloveman also enjoyed a breakthrough second year in 2016, recording his highest first-class score with an unbeaten 132 against Surrey in a season which saw him total 439 runs at an average of 37.92 in the County Championship.
Despite injury affecting his opportunities in 2017 and 2018, McManus has continued to impress with his glovework and powerful hitting in the lower-order, making valuable contributions, particularly in this summer’s Vitality Blast.
We’re delighted that Lewis has signed an extension here at Hampshire. He’s impressed with the way he continues to develop and improve his game and we know that players who have that ability have a very high ceiling.
Giles White, Director Of Cricket
He’s also part of a strong group of young players who have come through our player pathway system – he’s a great lad and we look forward to seeing Lewis continue his progress in the coming years.
I’m delighted to extend my contract at my home county, Hampshire. It’s a really exciting time to be a part of this team and there’s a real belief that we are close to achieving success across all formats. I’m looking forward to a strong winter to be able to hit the ground running next season and contribute to winning games of cricket for the club.
