Wicketkeeper-batsman Lewis McManus has signed a contract extension at Hampshire Cricket until the end of the 2023 season.
The 27 year old enjoyed another consistent campaign behind the stumps in 2021 featuring regularly for Hampshire across all competitions. McManus’ reliability with the gloves saw him take 28 catches in 11 LV= Insurance County Championship matches this year.
The Dorset born right-hander particularly stood out with the bat in the shorter format and produced vital middle order runs as Hampshire reached 2021 Vitality Blast Finals Day. His best knock came in July at The Ageas Bowl with a quickfire unbeaten 60 from just 36 balls as Hampshire beat Somerset.
Lewis is a player who is always looking to improve his game, he’s a popular member of the squad with a great attitude and we are delighted he’s extended his contract for the next two years.
Lewis is one of a strong group who have come through our pathway system and hopefully he can be role model for our younger players.

McManus is a product of Hampshire's highly successful youth system and made his first-class debut in May 2015. He quickly became a first-team regular in 2016, with a maiden County Championship century against Surrey – as well as three further half-centuries that season – further demonstrating his potential.
Injury affected his opportunities in 2017 and 2018, although he was still able to play an integral part in Hampshire’s 50-over triumph as the Club secured a first white-ball trophy in six years.
McManus continued to showcase his impressive glovework and powerful hitting in 2019 & 2020, making valuable contributions across all formats.
