Liam Dawson Excited About Involvement In The Hundred

Listen To Hampshire’s Star All-Rounder As He Reflects On His Selection For The Ageas Bowl-Based Southern Brave

Liam Dawson has been an integral part of Hampshire’s line-up in all formats throughout the past decade since the all-rounder’s debut for the county first XI in 2007, which has led to England call-ups for the Test, ODI and IT20 squads, including his name on their squad sheet for the recent 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.

Dawson’s ability with both bat and ball shined through for Hampshire in the 2019 season, which made him a hot prospect for teams in the new 100-ball competition beginning in 2020.

The home-grown all-rounder is looking forward to the impact that The Hundred will have next summer.

"Every single game will be exciting to watch"

Liam Dawson when asked about The Hundred

Last Sunday’s draft for The Hundred saw Dawson selected in the third round by the The Ageas Bowl-based Southern Brave. West Indian explosive all-rounder Andre Russell, Australia’s opening batsman David Warner and Pakistan’s crafty leg spin bowler Shadab Khan will feature as overseas players in Southampton next summer.

We caught up with Liam to get his thoughts on next year’s showpiece domestic competition and his involvement in the Southern Brave side.

Dawson will join England’s centrally contracted Jofra Archer, Sussex’s death-bowling specialist Chris Jordan and Hampshire captain James Vince, who were preselected as the team’s local icons.

See below for Dawson & Vince’s teammates for the Southern Brave who will be playing at the The Ageas Bowl next year.
