Hampshire Men return to Utilita Bowl as they face Worcestershire in the second round of County Championship fixtures featuring the Kookaburra ball
Hampshire all-rounder Liam Dawson has signed to play for Bangladesh Premier League side, Rangpur Riders, for the duration of the 2016 competition.
The 26-year-old will travel to Bangladesh for the commencement of the competition on Friday 4th November and will be available for all fixtures up until the competition’s conclusion on Friday 9th December.
Aside from Dawson, a host of other overseas players are set to feature in the tournament, with Chris Gayle, Kumar Sangakkara, Andre Russell and Ravi Bopara among some of the names due to be involved.
I’m really looking forward to joining up with Rangpur Riders – the competition starts in just a few days and Shahid Afridi is in the team too so it’ll be good to go into the team and know him from his time here at Hampshire.

It’s going to be a good challenge and there’s some very good overseas players in the competition so it’ll be hard work from a cricket point of view but hopefully I can put in some good performances and do myself proud.”
Dawson, who recently returned from Bangladesh following his involvement in England’s 50-over series-victory, joins the Riders for the competition’s fourth instalment.
The franchise, coached by former Bangladesh batsman Javed Omar and captained by Shahid Afridi, who featured for Hampshire in the 2016 NatWest T20 Blast campaign, are seeking their first ever T20 title.
