Luke Williams Appointed Southern Brave Women’s Head Coach
WPL and WBBL winning coach Luke Williams takes over from Charlotte Edwards as Head Coach of Southern Brave Women, with Marcus Trescothick appointed as men's batting coach
Women’s Premier League and Women’s Big Bash League winning coach Luke Williams has been appointed as Head Coach of Southern Brave women’s team.
Williams takes over from Charlotte Edwards after she was chosen to lead England Women earlier this year.
The former South Australia batter has been an assistant coach with Southern Brave since the first year of The Hundred and won back-to-back WBBL trophies with Adelaide Strikers in 2022 and 2023, and won the WPL title with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2024.
It’s a privilege to take charge of Southern Brave this year from Charlotte Edwards. Having worked with the team since for a number of years, we have an excellent group of players and staff and recruited well in the draft earlier this year so hopefully we can get back to Finals Day and lift the trophy this summer.
