Southern Vipers’ Maia Bouchier has been voted the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for March after a stellar tour of New Zealand
Southern Vipers and England batter Maia Bouchier has been awarded the ICC Women’s Player of the Month.
Bouchier beat Australia’s Ash Gardner and New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr to win the award for March 2024.
The 25-year-old had a stellar start to the tour of New Zealand, smashing back-to-back fifties, her first in IT20s, with a format-best of 91 which became the highest ever IT20 score by a touring batter in New Zealand.
In the five match IT20 series, Bouchier scored a mammoth 223 runs off 172 balls at an average of 55.75, as she clattered a total of 31 boundaries in five innings.
The ODIs saw a quieter period for Bouchier, with 70 runs in three innings, giving her a total of 293 runs at an average of 41.86 whilst striking at 117.2.

Maia Bouchier is set to be in action for both Southern Vipers and England in a bumper summer of cricket at Utilita Bowl.
She will face New Zealand again on Saturday 6th July at Utilita Bowl in front of a jam-packed crowd with 95% of tickets sold out.

Southern Vipers kick off their Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and Charlotte Edwards Cup title defences on 20th April and 18th May respectively.
Utilita Bowl hosts five Vipers matches, including two double headers with Hampshire Hawks on Thursday 30 May and Friday 14 June.
The Vipers also return to three outgrounds in Wormsley, Arundel Castle, and Falkland CC, along with two trips to the 1st Central County Ground in 2024.
