Hampshire Hawks take on Glamorgan at Sophia Gardens in their third consecutive away fixture in the Vitality Blast on Thursday.

After suffering their second defeat of the campaign against Somerset last time out, James Vince's side will be hoping to bounce back with a victory.

Glamorgan were also defeated in their last outing, narrowly losing by two wickets to Essex at The Cloud County Ground.

The Hawks and Glamorgan currently sit seventh and fifth in the South Group respectively, both with two wins and two defeats so far. The last time the two sides met at Sophia Gardens, Brad Wheal took his maiden T20 five-for as the Hawks came out on top in 2022.

Glamorgan are one of just two teams in the South Division to never have won the Vitality Blast and are the only side to have never qualified for the final. The Welsh side’s last trip to Finals Day came in 2017, but in recent seasons they have shown that they have the ability to make it to the knockout stages. Last year Glamorgan started with four wins out of their first five matches before a long injury list meant they fell away, winning just one more match before the end of the group stage.

So far in 2024, they have recorded two wins and two defeats from their opening four matches, with the highlight coming in their 25-run victory over Sussex Sharks. Colin Ingram and Sam Northeast have both recorded two half-centuries in the competition so far, while skipper Kiran Carlson, wicket-keeper Chris Cooke and Australian Test batter Marnus Labuschagne further strengthen the batting line-up. With the ball, on loan Hawks spinner Mason Crane leads the way with ten wickets already but is unavailable due to loan rules. Timm van der Gutgen, Jamie McIlroy and Dan Douthwaite are also dangerous options in Glamorgan's attack.
