Sunday 1 December (11pm start UK/7m start local)

Guyana National Stadium, Providence

Hampshire Hawks will be hoping to get back to winning ways as they take on the hosts, Guyana Amazon Warriors, in their third group match of the Guyana Global Super League.

Both sides lost their last matches, with the Hawks falling four runs of victory against Pakistan’s Lahore Qalandars, whilst Guyana Amazon Warriors were defeated by Victoria in the Australian state’s opening match on Friday night.

James Fuller almost pulled off a miraculous victory yesterday afternoon, as his back to back sixes in the final over off Carlos Brathwaite gave the Hawks hope, but the experienced West Indian nailed a perfect yorker to secure his side’s first win.

Tom Prest looked good for 30 whilst Liam Dawson and Danny Briggs were impressive once again with the ball in hand, as both spinners conceded fewer than five runs per over whilst picking up three wickets between them.

Danny Briggs and Shan Masood bolster an otherwise fully Hampshire-contracted squad, captained by the club’s leading T20 wicket taker, Chris Wood.

Captain: Imran Tahir

Arguably the tournament favourites, the Amazon Warriors suffered a surprise defeat to Victoria on Friday night.

Moeen Ali scored a fluent half-century, with three fours and four sixes, whilst Shai Hope showed his class with 40 off 30.

Skipper Imran Tahir, a former Hampshire man himself, was the pick of the bowlers with 2-34 from his four overs, whilst Dwaine Pretorious was expensive going at almost 11 runs per over.

Left arm spinner Gudakesh Motie, whose stock is rising quickly, claimed 1-23 from his four overs which included a maiden.
