Match Preview: Hampshire v Durham - LV= County Championship
Squad news ahead of Hampshire's LV= County Championship match beginning on Sunday against Durham at the The Ageas Bowl
Hampshire will be seeking their second win of the 2015 LV= County Championship campaign when they return to the The Ageas Bowl to face Durham beginning on Sunday.
James Vince's side suffered a heady defeat in their last fixture against Worcestershire and with five games remaining in the competition, but they will be hoping that a more positive result against a strong visiting Durham side will lift them from the foot of the Division One table.
Hampshire Squad:
Jimmy Adams has chosen to step down as LV= County Championship captain for an interim period in order to focus on his batting – James Vince will take over the captaincy in his place.
All-rounder Liam Dawson returns to the club following a short loan spell with Essex and he is included in a named 14-man squad.
18-year-old leg spinner Mason Crane is also included following his full Hampshire debut in a T20 fixture last week, whilst promising wicket-keeper batsman Lewis McManus also comes into the final squad.
The Opposition:
Durham have enjoyed a positive LV= County Championship campaign so far this season, with Paul Collingwood’s side currently sitting in third place in Division One.
Despite their strong position, Durham endured a difficult defeat last week as Warwickshire snatched a last-gasp two-wicket win at Chester-le-street on Wednesday, and they will be hoping that a good result at the The Ageas Bowl will get their title ambitions back on track.
