Match Preview: Hampshire v Kent Spitfires - Royal London One-Day Cup Final

A 13-man squad has been named for Saturday's final at Lord's

Hampshire are just one victory away from Royal London One-Day Cup glory as James Vince’s side take on Sam Billings’ Kent Spitfires in the competition final at Lord’s on Saturday.

The Club’s last success in a limited-overs final at Lord’s came in 2012, where a thrilling tie resulted in victory to complete a famous white-ball double that season. Kent Spitfires’ last List A success came 40 years ago, having been beaten in the final seven-times at Lord’s.

Hampshire Squad:

A 13-man squad has been announced for Saturday’s competition finale, with Mason Crane and Tom Alsop included alongside the final XI that defeated Yorkshire in the competition semi-final last week.

Liam Dawson and Reece Topley, who have both impressed for the England Lions this week, return for this fixture and are available for selection.

The Opposition:

Kent Spitfires have enjoyed an excellent run in this year’s competition, with victory against Hampshire in an early South-Group clash buoying Billings’ side who then went on to claim five consecutive victories to finish third in the group.

The visitors then defeated defending champions Notts Outlaws on their home patch, before chasing down 306 in their semi-final clash against Worcestershire Rapids to seal their final place.

Kent have named a 15-man squad with the in-form Heino Kuhn available, alongside the dangerous Daniel Bell-Drummond, Joe Denly and skilful New Zealand international, Matt Henry.
