After over a month away from red-ball action, Hampshire welcome Northamptonshire to The Ageas Bowl on Monday as they look to make a final charge for the LV= Insurance County Championship Division One title.

James Vince’s side currently sit in second place, 16 points behind leaders Surrey and will be hoping to overhaul the deficit in their final three games as look to win their first County Championship since 1973.

Northamptonshire, who are in fifth place in Division One, have won two of their last three games – beating Kent and Gloucestershire back in July.

This is the first meeting in the County Championship between the two since 2013.


Hampshire Squad

Hampshire have named a 14-player squad for the match against Northamptonshire.

Kyle Abbott is currently Division One’s leading wicket-taker with 49, while Keith Barker and Mohammad Abbas are both in the top six with 43 and 37 respectively.

With that bat, Ben Brown (675) and Nick Gubbins (673) have scored the most runs for Hampshire so far and both boast averages in the 40s.

Liam Dawson is included for the last time in the 2022 season, before he leaves to join up with England for their IT20 Tour of Pakistan.

19-year-old Tom Prest is included after an impressive Royal London Cup campaign where he scored 402 runs.
