Essex have struggled to get going at the start of the season, despite keeping the core group that won the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy with Sunrisers last year; they’ve won one out of their five matches with four defeats.
Grace Scrivens is leading from the front, and is the only player in the Essex camp to have scored over 200 runs this season – exciting all-rounder Jodi Grewcock is the next best with 136.
With the ball, Eva Gray leads the pace attack, with seven wicket to her name thus far, with Kate Coppack.
Spin is well catered for with Scottish international Abtaha Maqsood and the aforementioned Grewcock, both leg spin bowlers, whilst Scrivens herself can turn the ball into the right handers if required.
