Match Preview: Kent Spitfires v Hampshire Hawks, Vitality Blast

Hampshire Hawks will begin their 2021 Vitality Blast campaign tomorrow as they head to Canterbury to take on Kent Spitfires in the first instalment of T20 action this season.

After a positive start to this year’s County Championship, James Vince’s side will be hoping to carry their strong four-day form through to the start of this year’s competition.

Hampshire Squad:

A 14-man squad has been announced for Wednesday’s curtain-raiser.

Australia batsman D’Arcy Short is in line to make his debut for the Club after joining up with the squad ahead of the start of the tournament. He joins seamer Kyle Abbott as the side’s two overseas stars.

White-ball specialist Chris Wood is set to feature for the first time this summer and he’s joined in the travelling party by James Fuller who could also make his first appearance of the season.

Promising right-arm paceman Scott Currie is the other addition alongside 10 of the 13 players from last week’s County Championship fixture against Somerset – Cameron Steel, Felix Organ and Keith Barker are the trio that make way.

Hampshire Hawks' Vitality Blast match against Kent Spitfires at Canterbury will have a restricted fan attendance with a limited number of supporters attending the fixture.
