Match preview of Hampshire's meeting with Surrey, as their NatWest T20 Blast campaign continues at the Kia Oval
Hampshire can bounce back from an 8-run defeat to Kent Spitfires last night when they take on Surrey at the Oval on Thursday (9th June).
Hampshire Squad:
Sean Ervine led a terrific fight back against the Spitfires by hitting 56 runs off 34 balls on a slow outfield and is set to continue his duties as stand-in skipper in James Vince's absence.
Spellbinding batting performances from all-rounders Shahid Afridi (35) and Darren Sammy (30) captured the essence of the NatWest T20 Blast, and the overseas talents have firmly established themselves as Hampshire's dangermen with the bat ahead of their visit to the Oval.
Wicket-keeper batsman Lewis McManus made his T20 debut against Kent, having warranted his inclusion in the 14-man squad by hitting 118 runs off 62 balls for Hampshire Second XI against Somerset Second XI at Taunton.
The Opposition:
England batsman Jason Roy is Surrey's main batting threat - he scored 109 runs off 67 balls against Sussex last week.
Tom and Sam Curran are capable with the ball, and both have taken four wickets from their opening two NatWest T20 Blast appearances this year.
