Southern Vipers will be arriving at the The Ageas Bowl tomorrow evening with a huge spring in their step despite a thrilling four-wicket defeat against Yorkshire Diamonds on Sunday, as with other results going their way secured Tammy Beaumont’s side a place in the Kia Super League Finals Day for the third time in four years.

An unchanged squad of 15 has been named for Wednesday’s final group match against Loughborough Lightning.
The Vipers produced another high scoring, valiant display on Sunday at York despite the final ball defeat. Danni Wyatt continued some scintillating form with the bat, a quick-fire 20-ball 42 lifting her to a staggering 267 runs off her last four innings. This was accompanied by an innings full of vibrancy from Vipers captain Tammy Beaumont, who added 29 to the team total. Medium pacer Tash Farrant and Australian leg-spinner Amanda-Jade Wellington were the pick of the bowlers for the Vipers, each claiming two wickets in their spells to force the match into the final over.

Loughborough Lightning are buoyant after three successive wins which has secured their second-place finish in the league phase. Former Viper Georgia Adams looks sure to be the one to watch out for at the The Ageas Bowl on Wednesday as she enjoys a special purple patch of form coming off the back of a sublime half-century against Lancashire Thunder.
