Hampshire Hawks return to Vitality Blast action to take on Middlesex at Radlett on Saturday, looking to make a final charge for qualification from the South Group.

The Hawks campaign has been affected by rain, being involved in two of the three abandonments during the whole competition so far, including the reverse fixture against Middlesex at Utilita Bowl.

They have suffered back-to-back defeats in their last two matches, losing to Essex before falling seven runs short against Sussex Sharks, leaving them in sixth place.

Middlesex, meanwhile, currently occupy ninth position with just three points from their opening eight matches.

Tom Prest is in the squad and has recovered from his shoulder injury.

Michael Neser has finished his stint with the club and Ali Orr remains side-lined following his arm injury.

Captain: Stephen Eskinazi

It has been a tough start to the Vitality Blast campaign for Middlesex who currently sit bottom of the South Group, losing six of their opening eight matches and only winning once. This is a continuation of their recent form in the competition, in which they have finished in the bottom two of the group during each of the last three seasons. The last time they qualified for the quarter-final was in 2019.

However, Middlesex still have enough quality in their squad to turn their fortunes around. Stephen Eskinazi, Martin Andersson and Max Holden represent a dangerous top order, while Leus du Plooy has only played in three of their eight group matches so far but could be a key player in the coming matches. All-rounder Ryan Higgins is also a very useful player across all three formats. Luke Hollman has 14 wickets so far, and is joined in the bowling attack by Tom Helm, Henry Brookes and Blake Cullen. 19-year-old Noah Cornwell has also caught the eye this season, having made his debut for the club during the competition.
