Nottinghamshire v Hampshire
Vitality County Championship (Division One)
Friday 17th May – Monday 20th May 2024 (11am Start)
Trent Bridge
Hampshire are back on the road this week as they travel to Trent Bridge to take on Nottinghamshire in the Vitality County Championship.
It has been a difficult start for the Rose & Crown who are still looking for their first win after recording a fourth draw of the season against Durham last time out.
Nottinghamshire, on the other hand, beat Lancashire in their last match to give them a first taste of victory in 2024.
The two sides met twice last season with Hampshire taking the victory on both occasions.
Hampshire Squad
Hampshire have named a 14-player squad for the match against Nottinghamshire.
Ali Orr and Tom Prest scored their first centuries of the season in the draw with Durham. Liam Dawson also recorded his second five-wicket haul of 2024 so far.
There are two additions to the squad with Keith Barker included for the first time this season, while overseas signing Michael Neser has also arrived.
Ian Holland and John Turner miss out.

Captain: Haseeb Hameed
Having avoided the drop in the first season back in Division One last season, Nottinghamshire have made a solid start to 2024 and currently sit in fourth place. They were defeated quite convincingly in the opening round against Essex but bounced back with three draws, before recording a nine-wicket victory over Lancashire last time out. They had their new skipper, Haseeb Hameed, to thank for the victory as he scored an unbeaten 247 to set the match up.
Hameed is actually the third player to score a double century for Nottinghamshire already this season, after England's Ben Duckett and wicket-keeper batter Joe Clarke - who has been in scintillating form with the bat so far. In fact a total of nine players have a score over fifty in Nottinghamshire's ranks already this summer. There have also been some bright bowling performances, with Calvin Harrison and Dillon Pennington leading the way on 16 wickets. Dane Paterson and Olly Stone are also dangerous players with the ball in hand.
