Match Preview: Somerset v Hampshire - Vitality Blast

Hampshire will look to halt a run of disappointing Vitality Blast results this week as James Vince’s side take on Somerset at Taunton on Wednesday evening.

Hampshire Squad:

A 15-man squad has been named for the latest Vitality Blast match-up and the group will be hoping for better fortune against Lewis Gregory’s side following Sunday’s abandoned fixture against Sussex Sharks.

Destructive opener Colin Munro will look to put on a show once again in his last week at Hampshire after a run of impressive knocks in the most recent contests, whilst Jake Lintott is also included once again in the travelling party.

The Opposition:

Somerset currently sit third in the South group after claiming their fourth victory of the season on Sunday against Middlesex, a performance which saw rapid half centuries from Peter Trego (60 from 31 balls) and Lewis Gregory (62 from 26 balls).

New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson also chipped in with a valuable 41* against Eoin Morgan’s side, and the left-hander is likely to be a danger once again on home turf.

Exciting duo Jamie and Craig Overton will provide a key threat with the ball, alongside short-form spinners Max Waller and Roelof van der Merwe.
