Match Preview: Southern Vipers v Loughborough Lightning, Kia Super League Semi-Final
The Southern Vipers' take on Loughborough Lightning in the Kia Super League semi-final at Hove
Southern Vipers will go head-to-head with Loughborough Lighning in the Kia Super League semi-final as they bid for a second title at Sunday's Finals Day.
Southern Vipers Squad
An unchanged squad of 15 has been named for Sunday's semi-final.
Danni Wyatt has been in superb form througout this year's competition with 362 runs at an average of 40.22 to her name in nine innings so far. The right-hander will be crucial to the Vipers' chances on Sunday at the top of the order alongside the experienced Suzie Bates and captain Tammy Beaumont.
Tash Farrant has proved to be as reliable as ever with the ball this year, claiming 12 wickets at just 14.33 apiece this campaign. Her control and skill both with the new ball and at the death has been vital and she'll be hoping to add to her tally this weekend.
The Opposition
Loughborough Lightning head to Finals Day buoyant after four successive wins, including last time out at the The Ageas Bowl, which secured their second-place finish in the league phase.
England international Amy Jones was instrumental to that positive result, striking 74* in the final group contest, taking her run tally to 300 so far this summer. Whilst she's been the standout performer with the bat, the whole Lightning bowling attack has contributed thoughout their campaign, Sarah Glenn and Kirstie Gordon each picking up 10 wickets each, whilst Jenny Gunn and Hayley Matthews both have nine to their names.
