Southern Vipers v Northern Diamonds
Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy
Saturday 22nd July (10:30am start)
Arundel Castle
Southern Vipers take on Northern Diamonds for the first time in the RHFT this year as the two teams head to Arundel Castle for the final round of fixtures before the Hundred.
The Vipers got back to winning ways in a rain affected match against Western Storm, where they chased down a DLS-adjusted 238, where Georgia Adams recorded her second fifty in as many games, with Maia Bouchier smashing 71 from 72 balls.
Freya Kemp, still playing as a specialist batter, made her highest score in a Vipers shirt of 47, whilst Linsey Smith continued her consistent form back in orange and black with 2-36 from ten overs.
The Diamonds lost their previous match against Central Sparks at Headingley, despite 66 from captain Hollie Armitage, and a quickfire 49* from the powerful Bess Heath.
Wickets from the evergreen Katie Levick (3-31), Jess Woolston (1-24) and Grace Hall (1-17) weren’t enough to restrict the west midlands side as they chased down their DLS target of 164 down with just two balls to spare.
Southern Vipers Squad
Southern Vipers have named a 14-player squad.
Skipper Georgia Adams will be looking to continue her good form after she recorded back-to-back half-centuries against The Blaze and Western Storm. She finds herself just 80 runs shy of 2,000 runs for the Vipers.
Charlie Dean returns from England duty but Lauren Bell and Danni Wyatt remain unavailable.
