The Ageas Bowl
Southern Vipers return to The Ageas Bowl for the final time in 2023 as they take on South East Stars in their penultimate group stage match of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.
Last time out at Arundel Castle, Mary Taylor took career-best figures of 4-39 as the Vipers secured a bonus point as they won by 64 runs in West Sussex.
Skipper Georgia Adams continued her extraordinary season as she passed 600 runs in 2023 for the Vipers with her 71, with Emily Windsor also making a half-century – her fourth in orange and black.
Wiley spinner Linsey Smith decimated the Thunder top order on her way to figures of 3-29 from her ten overs to take her level with Adams on 25 Vipers wickets for the year.
The Stars meanwhile beat table-toppers The Blaze to jump the Vipers to go second in the table, with four teams in the running for the second eliminator spot.
Alice Davidson-Richards’ century was the backbone of Stars’ 278 with former Viper Paige Scholfield making 56 before leg spinner Dani Gregory took 3-32 as the Trent Bridge-based side were bowled out for 171.
The two sides last played each other in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy in April where openers Ella McCaughan and Maia Bouchier recorded half-centuries along with Georgia Elwiss, and Lauren Bell took her second-best RHFT figures of 4-37.
