A 13-player squad has been named for Southern Vipers’ Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy match against The Blaze at Chesterfield
The Blaze v Southern Vipers
Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy
Friday 5th July 2024 (10:30am start)
Queen’s Park, Chesterfield
Southern Vipers head to their captain’s place of birth as they aim for back-to-back wins in the return of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.
The Vipers completed a convincing win over Western Storm at Hove, with Mary Taylor and Georgia Adams picking up three wickets each before Georgia Elwiss’ unbeaten 65, along with 49 from Ella McCaughan, helped see the home side comfortably over the line within 30 overs.
The Blaze’s victory in their previous match was equally considerable, defeating South East Stars by 133 runs at Beckenham.
Sarah Bryce’s 81, with fifties from Ella Claridge and Marie Kelly powered the visitors to 318-8 before Heather Graham’s 6-39 helped skittle the Stars for 185.

The Vipers have named a 13-player squad for their trip to Queen’s Park.
Freya Kemp and Linsey Smith link up with England Women as their IT20 series against New Zealand begins at Utilita Bowl on Saturday 6th July.
Alice Monaghan rejoins the squad having recovered from injury.

The Blaze
They may have been by far the best team in the Charlotte Edwards Cup, but The Blaze haven’t quite found their feet in the 50-over campaign so far this year.
They had just two wins from their first six games before they lifted the T20 trophy at Derby, but a mammoth win on Sunday pushed them up to fifth, just one spot outside of semi-final contention.
The form of the Bryce sisters continued from where they left off, and we can expect Tammy Beaumont to return to the side with England’s ODI series concluding on Wednesday 3rd July.
However, they will be without Nadine de Klerk who is on international duty with South Africa, with Australian Heather Graham replacing her.
