The Southern Vipers take on Yorkshire Diamonds in a must-win Kia Super League contest at the The Ageas Bowl on Wednesday.
Southern Vipers Squad:
Suzie Bates’ side will be hoping to bounce back from a handful of difficult defeats in recent weeks, with four fixtures now remaining in this year’s competition.
Sara McGlashan was the star for the Vipers last time out, as she struck an excellent half-century against Loughborough Lightning last weekend, and she’ll be hoping to continue that good form this week. Tammy Beaumont, who missed previous two matches due to concussion, made her return last Saturday and will feature once again.
Tash Farrant is unavailable after suffering a fractured collarbone in that fixture.
The Opposition:
Yorkshire Diamonds claimed their first Kia Super League victory of the season against the Vipers last week to climb off bottom spot.
Lauren Winfield top-scored against Bates’ squad last time, and the right-hander has impressed this year with 181 runs at an average of 36.20, enough to see her sit third in the list of run-getters this year.
England seamer Katherine Brunt has been the most consistent performer with the ball and will likely be dangerous once again on Wednesday, having claimed 5-26 last time out.
