Hampshire Hawks Confirm 2026 Vitality Blast Fixtures
Utilita Bowl will host seven Vitality Blast matchdays in 2026, including five double headers, starting on Tuesday 26th May
After a month-long break from red-ball cricket which has seen Hampshire secure a place in the Royal London One-Day Cup final, Specsavers County Championship action returns this week as Sam Northeast’s side head to Edgbaston to take on Warwickshire.
Hampshire Squad:
A 13-man squad has been named for the trip to Birmingham, with Oli Soames, Aneurin Donald, Ian Holland and Mason Crane all included alongside 10 of the final XI that featured against Yorkshire at the The Ageas Bowl in April.
James Vince is unavailable for selection due to his international commitments with England. Sam Northeast replaces him as skipper, with the 29-year-old hoping to continue his excellent start to the red-ball campaign, after totalling 268 runs at an average of 89.33 in the first two fixtures this season.
The Opposition:
Warwickshire earned promotion back to the top tier of the Specsavers County Championship last season and will be searching for their first victory of the competition against Hampshire after coming up short against fellow 2018 promoted side Kent in their one and only four-day fixture so far.
Dom Sibley and Tim Ambrose both struck centuries in their side’s curtain-raiser and will be looking to add to their tally this week, whilst experienced captain Jeetan Patel will be a threat with the ball should the wicket be conducive to spin.
