Joseph Eckland And Daisy Mullan Released
Keeper-batter Joseph Eckland and all-rounder Daisy Mullan will leave Hampshire Cricket on the expiration of their contracts
The Southern Vipers look to pick up back-to-back Kia Super League victory as they take on table-toppers Western Storm at Bristol on Saturday.
Southern Vipers Squad:
Suzie Bates’ side bounced back in good style against Yorkshire Diamonds at the The Ageas Bowl on Wednesday, and they’ll be looking to secure a second consecutive win this week
Tammy Beaumont struck her first Vipers half-century against Katherine Brunt’s side, continuing her good form in the competition so far, and she’ll be hoping to keep making key contributions as the group stages begin to come to a close.
Bates also made a big impact, this time with the ball, as she picked up 4-26 from her four overs, whilst Amelia Kerr impressed once again with an economical 2-22.
The Opposition:
Western Storm have performed well so far this season and currently sit top of the table having claimed victory in six of their seven matches contested.
Overseas signing Smitiri Mandhana has been pivotal to Heather Knight’s side’s success, totalling 387 runs at an average of 77.40 from her seven innings, including a century and two fifties.
The powerful left-hander has been well-supported by her skipper at the top of the order too, with Knight striking 250 runs at an average of 50, and the duo are likely to be the key dangers on Saturday.
