Worcestershire Rapids v Hampshire
Metro Bank One Day Cup (Group A)
Sunday 11th August 2024 (11am Start)
Visit Worcestershire New Road
Hampshire take on Worcestershire Rapids at Visit Worcestershire New Road on Sunday in their penultimate Metro Bank One Day Cup group match.
Despite suffering defeat to Durham last time out, Nick Gubbins side still sit in third place in Group A, knowing that a victory would push them up into second and within touching distance of the knockout stage.
Worcestershire, meanwhile, currently occupy second place – level on points with Hampshire – and know a victory would all but confirm their place in at least the quarter-final.
The two sides met in last year's One Day Cup quarter-final where Aneurin Donald's 115 led Hampshire to victory on their way to finishing as runners-up.
Hampshire Squad
Hampshire have named a 13-player squad for their match against Worcestershire Rapids.
Joe Weatherley comes back into the squad having been released by Southern Brave, while Muhammad Abbas is also included.
Ali Orr and Ethan Martin don't make the squad.

Worcestershire Rapids
Captain: Jake Libby
Having struggled in the two years prior, Worcestershire have become a dangerous side in the One Day Cup during the last two years. In 2023, they reached the quarter-final after finishing third in Group B, only to suffer a ten-run defeat to Hampshire. They have continued that form into this year, with four wins from their six matches so far which leaves them in second place in the group.
Captain Jake Libby has led from the front with 311 runs, while Gareth Roderick (338) and Ed Pollock (253) have also been impressive with the bat. 18-year-old Jack Home and 20-year-old Fateh Singh – on loan from Nottinghamshire – lead the Rapids in wickets so far in 2024 with 12 apiece. The likes of Tom Taylor, Rob Jones and Tom Hinley are good options for the hosts.
