Joseph Eckland And Daisy Mullan Released
Keeper-batter Joseph Eckland and all-rounder Daisy Mullan will leave Hampshire Cricket on the expiration of their contracts
After a turbulent start to this year's Kia Super League campaign, the Southern Vipers head north looking for their second victory of the season as they face bottom side Yorkshire Diamonds on Thursday.
Southern Vipers Squad:
Despite a disappointing showing against the defending champs, the Vipers bowling attack has impressed so far this campaign. Tash Farrant’s hat-trick, only the second in Kia Super League history, against Lancashire Thunder proved the venom the Vipers have in their bowling attack, whilst 17-year-old Amelia Kerr starred in the match prior to that, claiming outstanding figures of 1-6 from her four overs.
Suzie Bates battled her way to top-score with 40 against Lancashire, and although she was unable to kick on with wickets falling around her against Western Storm on Tuesday, she will be hoping to add her first big score of the campaign on Thursday.
Tammy Beaumont missed out against Western Storm due to a concussion sustained against Lancashire but could make a return this week.
The Opposition:
In search of their first appearance at Finals Day, Yorkshire Diamonds have had a difficult start to the campaign so far, having lost three of their four matches and yet to claim a first win of the competition.
Australian all-rounder Delissa Kimmince tops the list of her side’s run-getters with 70 runs from the opening four games, whilst Alice Davidson-Richards has been the pick of the bowlers, collecting four of her side’s 13 wickets this season.
