Keeper-batter Joseph Eckland and all-rounder Daisy Mullan will leave Hampshire Cricket on the expiration of their contracts
Hampshire head into their final group stage clash of the 2025 Metro Bank One Day Cup with qualification for the knockout rounds still in the balance. The outcome of today’s fixture against Gloucestershire – along with results elsewhere – will determine whether Hampshire progress straight to the Semi-Finals, enter the Quarter-Finals, or miss out on the knockouts altogether.
Here’s how the qualification picture looks:
Worcestershire lose: Hampshire finish top of the group and progress directly to a home Semi-Final to be hosted at Utilita Bowl, Sunday 31st August.
Worcestershire win: Hampshire finish second and qualify for the Quarter-Finals.
Worcestershire win and Essex lose: Hampshire finish third and qualify for the Quarter-Finals.
Worcestershire win and Essex win: Hampshire finish fourth and do not qualify for the knock-out rounds
Worcestershire lose: Hampshire finish second and qualify for the Quarter-Finals.
Worcestershire win: Hampshire finish third and qualify for the Quarter-Finals.
Qualification for the knockout stages of the Men's Metro Bank One Day Cup is secured by finishing in the top three of the group.
Teams finishing second and third will play a quarter final on Thursday 28th August, with the first placed team progressing directly to the semi-final stages on Sunday 31st August.
Utilita Bowl is unavailable on Thursday 28th August, should the team qualify second in the group, home advantage will be conceded. If the team qualify in first position, the semi-final will be hosted at Utilita Bowl on Sunday 31st August.
The group stages will conclude on Tuesday 26th August and, should the team qualify for the knockout phase, Hampshire members will receive more information about accessing tickets for home or away matches at this point.
