Men’s Academy Cohort Confirmed For 2025-26

Hampshire confirm their men's Academy cohort for 2025-26 with nine players awarded a place on the programme

Hampshire Cricket have confirmed their men’s Academy intake for 2025-26.

This year’s men’s Academy will feature nine players, of which six are newcomers to the programme.

The Academy welcomes bowlers Abdullah Iqbal, Peter Nedeljkovic, and Barney Overton, batter Adam Bourne, and all-rounders Freddie Gillet and Tom Wellings.

Pace bowlers Oliver Williams, Ibrahim Zafar, and Manny Lumsden – who featured in Hampshire’s One Day Cup campaign this year – remain on the Academy.

We are really pleased to welcome six new faces to the Academy and are delighted that three players remain with us for 2026. After some great performances in the 2025 season Ben Mayes has earnt a contract and will be looking to contribute in all formats next season in the 1st XI. The Academy squad is a very exciting group with many of the players putting in fantastic performances across various Hampshire teams last season.

Sam Ashman, Zack Basey, Oli Cordery, and Finn Gordon all depart the programme whilst batter Ben Mayes has been awarded a multi-year contract.
