Australian Duo Neser And Lehmann Join Hampshire For 2026
Australian all-rounder Michael Neser and batter Jake Lehmann join Hampshire for the 2026 season
Taunton has been an unhappy hunting ground for Hampshire in T20 cricket recently - of the previous seven away meetings with Somerset in the shortest format, Hampshire hadn’t managed to register a single victory.
And Somerset were Hampshire's opposition in their fourth match of the 2019 Vitality Blast campaign, with the pressure very much on James Vince's side after three straight defeats to start the competition.
Chasing 173 for victory, James Vince’s men faltered early on losing three wickets in the powerplay, leaving them at a desperate 35-3.
Liam Dawson (47*) put on a partnership worth 55 with Aneurin Donald (48) before the latter was caught at cover in the 13th over.
The loss of Donald meant Hampshire’s explosive middle-order had to produce, and produce they did.
Needing a further 85 runs from just seven overs: South-African all-rounder Chris Morris (15), James Fuller (28) and Lewis McManus (15*) did enough alongside Dawson to get Hampshire over the line with just three balls remaining.
