Hampshire Cricket are delighted to announce that top order batter Nick Gubbins has been elected as captain for the Royal London Cup side this season.
He takes charge of the team while Club captain James Vince is away with Southern Brave for The Hundred which is taking place at the same time as the 50-over campaign.
Gubbins was the team’s leading run scorer in last year’s campaign, scoring 318 runs at an average of 53.00, including a 131* against Sussex Sharks where he also recorded bowling figures of 4-38.
We sat down with the new skipper to discuss his thoughts ahead of the season.
