Shahid Afridi (4-20) - Glamorgan v Hampshire, NatWest T20 Blast, 7th July 2017
Hampshire - on this day in 2017 - travelled to face Glamorgan in the Vitality Blast, coming off the back of a well contested County Championship draw against Surrey at the Oval.
The hosts won the toss and elected to field first. James Vince (31) and Rilee Rossouw (18) began in a positive manner before Vince fell in the fourth over with the score already on 52. A handy knock from Australian George Bailey (37*) then followed before Lewis McManus found his range striking a devastating 59 from just 35 deliveries including five sixes.
Glamorgan's reply got off to the worst possible start as Reece Topley removed David Lloyd (0) first ball and had danger man Colin Ingram (1) caught all in the first over. The home side never really recovered as spin twins Shahid Afridi (4-20) and Mason Crane (1-26) proved too hot to handle as Hampshire left Cardiff with a 22 run victory and a valuable two points.
