Simon Katich (180) - Yorkshire v Hampshire, County Championship – 17th May 2012
Australian star Simon Katich - on this day in 2012 - put Yorkshire's bowling attack to the sword in a County Championship match at Headingley.
After winning the toss Jimmy Adams decided Hampshire would have a bat, but after slipping to 6-2 may have been questioning his decision.
The fall of the second wicket brought Katich to the crease, where he remained all day, amassing an unbeaten 180 by the end of the day's play, supported ably by Michael Bates.
Katich added a handful to his overnight score the following morning before finally being dismissed for 196 as Hampshire made 427 first up.
Yorkshire replied in kind, declaring on 399/9.
A draw was the high scoring match's final result - with Katich unbeaten on 61 in Hampshire's second innings when handshakes were extended.
