On This Day: Rilee Goes Big

Rilee Rossouw, in his first match back after injury, put Somerset to the sword at Taunton in 2017's Royal London One-Day Cup

Rilee Rossouw (156) - Somerset v Hampshire, Royal London One-Day Cup (South Group)  – 10th May 2017

New signing Rilee Rossouw, in his first match back after a month out with a hand injury, blitzed his way to a career-best score as Hampshire beat Somerset by four wickets on 10th May 2017 in the group stages of the Royal London One-Day Cup.

After winning the toss Hampshire put Somerset in, and it proved a good decision as the hosts were dismissed for 249 with Berg (3-44), Edwards (2-57) and Crane (2-66) all impressing with the ball.

But then it very much became the Rilee Rossouw show.

Chasing exactly 250 to win Rossouw came out of the blocks firing in Hampshire's reply - scoring 56 of his team's first 57 runs - before going on to register a career-best score, which included 24 fours and two sixes, as Hampshire ran out winners by four wickets.
