Defending the One Day Cup in 2019, Hampshire won seven out of eight group matches on their way to a consecutive Lord's final.

The third game of their title defence was against Middlesex at The Ageas Bowl. The visitors won the toss and elected to bowl.

Hampshire scored 301/9 in their innings, led by overseas Aiden Markram's typically fluent 88 from 90 balls, well supported by Rilee Rossouw (64) and Liam Dawson (43) down the order.

In reply, South African pair Kyle Abbott and Aiden Markram made light work of the Middlesex top order, sharing six wickets between them.

Liam Dawson (3-37) and Mason Crane (1-23) cleaned up the tail as Hampshire secured victory by 119 runs.

Hampshire’s Metro Bank One Day season begins on Tuesday 1st August, taking on Middlesex at The Ageas Bowl in their first of eight group matches.

They will make a return to Newclose on the Isle of Wight for their final group match against Kent Spitfires on Tuesday 22nd August.
