Hampshire Cricket Launch New County Championship And One Day Cup Kits For 2026
Looking back on Hampshire Cricket history, we pay tribute to the County Championship and ODC kits featured at the Bowl... 25 years in the making.
A youthful Hampshire side led by Nick Gubbins exceeded expectations in 2022, reaching the semi-final.
Their final home game before the knock-out stages was against a strong Essex side at The Ageas Bowl.
The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first in Southampton.
Jack Campbell struck twice early on, having Khushi caught behind before Essex captain Tom Westley could only pull a ball to Scott Currie at mid-wicket.
Hampshire took regular wickets, John Turner, Scott Currie and Campbell all took two wickets, with Currie being the pick of the bowlers only conceding 46 from his allocated ten overs.
In response, Tom Prest was the pick of Hampshire's batting line-up with 76 from 104 balls.
The right-hander was well supported by Ben Brown and Aneurin Donald in the middle overs.
Prest was then dismissed with the score on 167 but Toby Albert (34), Felix Organ (30) and Ian Holland (21*) pushed Hampshire to victory with ten balls to spare.
Hampshire’s Metro Bank One Day season continues on Tuesday 8th August, taking on Essex at The Ageas Bowl in their second of eight group matches.
They will make a return to Newclose on the Isle of Wight for their final group match against Kent Spitfires on Tuesday 22nd August.
