Australian Duo Neser And Lehmann Join Hampshire For 2026
Australian all-rounder Michael Neser and batter Jake Lehmann join Hampshire for the 2026 season
Hampshire's pre-season friendly against Kent on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th March has been cancelled due to a wet outfield at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence.
After several days of snow and rain, the surface is saturated and the home side's groundstaff have advised that play would be very unlikely this week.
The snow in recent weeks knocked us back about 10 days in our preparations and with the thawing snow and heavy rain in recent days, the outfield is saturated with more rain forecast in the coming days.
Simon Williamson, Kent Head Groundsman
The ground needs a few more days to dry out and we don’t want to risk the safety of the players or the long-term condition of the outfield.
The next scheduled pre-season fixture will see Hampshire take on Kent, this time at the The Ageas Bowl, in a two-day match beginning on Thursday 22nd March.
