Placement Opportunity: Hampshire Cricket Analyst

Hampshire Cricket are looking for a university student to join the analysis team as part of a work placement within their course.

The successful applicant will have the chance to assist with analysis at an elite level, and also gain experience in leading the 2nd XI analysis programme.

Overview

Role: Assistant Analyst + 2^nd XI Analyst

Duration: 2017 Season (March 2017 – September 2017)

Salary: As this is a placement opportunity, the club will not provide a salary, however, travel expenses will be covered

Location: The Ageas Bowl, Southampton

Hours: All home 2^nd XI fixtures and selected 1^st XI matches (including some weekends)

Main Roles / Responsibilities

• Assist with live match coding with the 1^st XI during matches at The Ageas Bowl
• Assist with pre-match preparation for first team fixtures and delivery to players / coaches
• Be responsible for analysis across all 2^nd XI home fixtures
• Be responsible for all coding of 2^nd XI matches live at The Ageas Bowl
• Provide reports to coaching staff from 2^nd XI matches
• Assist with maintenance of existing databases currently in use at Hampshire Cricket

Requirements

• An existing undergraduate or masters student looking for a placement as part of their programme (Essential)
• Desire to work at an elite level in performance analysis (Essential)
• An interest in cricket (Essential)
• Coaching qualifications in cricket (Desirable)
• Be able to start the placement as close to March as possible (Desirable)
• Have a valid driver’s license / Access to a vehicle (Essential)
• Be able to work weekends when fixtures require (Essential)
