Hawks v Essex
Vitality Blast- Semi-Final
Saturday 15th July (11am Start)
Edgbaston
Hampshire Hawks travel to Edgbaston for their record tenth Vitality Blast Finals Day and will take on Essex in the first semi-final.
It is their third consecutive trip to Finals Day and they will look to become the first side to ever win back-to-back title after their 2022 triumph.
Somerset and Surrey contest the day’s other semi-final (2:30pm), before the Final is scheduled to take place at 6:45pm.
The Hawks are the current champions after their dramatic win over Lancashire Lightning in 2022 and they will take confidence from their five-wicket quarter-final victory over Worcestershire Rapids.
Essex, who last won the competition in 2019, defeated Birmingham Bears to book their place in the last four.
It will be the third meeting between the two sides this season, after a James Vince ton inspired the Hawks to victory at Chelmsford and a tense final over triumph for the home side at The Ageas Bowl.
Hampshire Squad
A 15-player Hawks squad has been named for Vitality Blast Finals Day.
The quarter-final victory over Worcestershire Rapids saw Nathan Ellis record his T20 career best figures of 4-6.
Ben McDermott missed out against the Rapids due to a back spasm. Ben Brown has been added to the squad for Aneurin Donald who has a broken finger.
Skipper James Vince currently leads the competition in runs scored with 657.
