PSL Update: Four Hampshire Stars In Action

Check in on how James Vince, Liam Dawson, Rilee Rossouw and Vitality Blast signing Shaheen Afridi are performing in Pakistan

Four of Hampshire’s Vitality Blast squad have been plying their trade in the Pakistan Super League since it begun last week.

James Vince, Liam Dawson, Rilee Rossouw and new signing Shaheen Afridi are in the sub-continent taking part in the fifth edition of the T20 tournament, the first to fully take place in Pakistan.

Vince and Rossouw are representing the Multan Sultans, Dawson has once again linked up with Peshawar Zalmi while Afridi is lining up for the Lahore Qalandars.

The Hampshire skipper has had a positive start to the tournament, a high score of 42 against the Islamabad United the highlight, while Rossouw has also begun his campaign in positive fashion with scores of 32 and a match winning 49* against Zalmi on Wednesday afternoon.

Dawson is still making inroads with the bat and providing experience with the ball.

In Afridi’s two games, the six foot six seamer has only conceded 18 runs in each of his innings bowled and taken five wickets, including a four-wicket haul against Islamabad.

The next games to feature Hampshire players are tomorrow, where Vince and Rossouw will take on the Karachi Kings whilst Dawson and Zalmi are set to face off with Afridi’s Qalandars.
