Opener Joe Weatherley continued his impressive early season form with the bat by hitting an unbeaten 98 in the Hampshire Second XI match against the Lancashire Second XI at the The Ageas Bowl’s Nursery Ground.
The two-day friendly saw Hants bowl first after winning the toss with half-centuries for Jordan Clark (86), Alex Davies (68) and Liam Livingstone (57) helping the visitors reach 283-4 declared after 64 overs.
It was the opening pair of Chris Wood (0-15) and Brad Wheal (2-49) who impressed the most with the ball for Hampshire, with the former going for just 15 runs from his 14 overs bowled.
