Dorset v Berkshire - Dorchester CC
Berkshire picked up their second win of the tournament in a thrilling chase at Dorchester against Dorset.
The home side batted first, and scored a very respectable 229-7 off their 50 overs.
Manta Kothiyal was the star with the bat, as she frolicked her way to a 41-ball 52 not out, with Victoria Pack making 43.
Wickets were shared around the Berkshrie bowlers, with Amelia Humphrey and Hollie Summerfield being the pick of the bowlers with 2-30 and 2-39.
Dorset got off to a tricky start, slipping to 61-5 as Katie Harris picked up two wickets, with one each for Megan Bishop and Caitlin Chissell.
But the girl who’s starred with the ball for the Vipers Academy, Ava Lee, took it upon herself to make a name with the bat in hand as well.
She blitzed a run-a-ball 90 not out, and put on 114 for the sixth wicket with Isobel Carson who made 34.
Lee, needing ten to win off the final over, then saw the visitors home by three wickets, with just two balls to spare, winning the match with a four.
Hampshire v Oxfordshire - Rowledge CC
Oxfordshire succumbed to their first defeat of the tournament, as they were undone by a strong Hampshire side who move to second in the table.
A Hampshire side featuring several Vipers Academy and Southern Vipers players bowled the visitors out for 168 in the 49th over, with Abi Norgove top scoring with 63, with opener Megan Jones the next best on 28.
PJ Watkins and Eve O’Neill, both Vipers Academy, stood out with the ball taking 3-17 off ten overs, and 3-38 off ten overs respectively.
Hampshire captain Ella Chandler then struck 62 not out which included eight fours, and Ariana Dowse, who came into the game off the back of 99 against Sunrisers Academy, made 35, as the home side won by eight wickets in the 30th over, with Chloe Westbury and Georgia Haworth the wicket takers for Oxfordshire.
Buckinghamshire v Sussex - Chalfont St Peter CC
Buckinghamshire take the lead of the South Central Counties Cup after a resounding 104-run win against Sussex at Chalfont St Peter.
The home side went first with the bat, and made a strong total of 228 all out, leaving just four balls of their innings unbowled.
Abigail Whybrow top scored with 68, with Isabella James making 34, as Beth Harvey and Cassidy McCarthy were the pic of the Sussex bowlers, with 3-32 and 3-26 respectively.
The visitors found themselves in deep trouble early on, as they lost six of their top seven for single figure scores, as they found themselves 59-6.
Southern Vipers’ Tara Norris stood up with 44, but the Bucks bowlers were too strong for the Sussex batters, with wickets being shared between all five bowlers, as Hannah Francis, Natasha MacBean, Cara Duggan and Hannah Davis all taking two each, with one for Bethan Miles and a runout for Isabella James.
