Rivalries Renewed For Blockbuster Platinum Jubilee Weekend
el clasicoast comes to The Ageas Bowl whilst Southern Vipers v Northern Diamonds have met in both finals of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and the semi-final of the Charlotte Edwards Cup
Saturday 4th June sees a blockbuster day of cricket at the peak of Her Majesty The Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
In the afternoon, Southern Vipers take on Northern Diamonds in the final group stage match of the Charlotte Edwards Cup, whilst in the evening, Hampshire Hawks take on Sussex Sharks in the latest edition of el clasicoast.
Remind yourself of some of the best moments from previous el clasicoast clashes with former Hawks Captain John Crawley.
His first look back comes from the inaugural T20 back in 2003 where fast bowler Ed Giddins simply didn't care about what field he wanted.
The Southern Vipers have edged out the Northern Diamonds twice in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy since its inception in 2020, with last year's final at Northampton going down to the very last over of the season, where Emily Windsor starred as she clipped Beth Langston for four to seal the win with just two balls to spare.
Hampshire meanwhile got the better of their south coast rivals at The Ageas Bowl thanks to a superb century by Captain James Vince.
The skipper struck 14 fours and three sixes on his way to three figures as Hampshire got over the line with four balls remaining, thanks to 24* from Joe Weatherley off just 12 balls.
You can buy tickets to this blockbuster double header at The Ageas Bowl at the cheaper Advance Rate until 11:59pm Friday 3rd June so don't hesitate to get yours now via the link below.
