Joseph Eckland And Daisy Mullan Released
Keeper-batter Joseph Eckland and all-rounder Daisy Mullan will leave Hampshire Cricket on the expiration of their contracts
Hampshire will look to secure their first Royal London One Day Cup victory of the season when they travel to Radlett CC on Tuesday (7th June) to take on Middlesex.
Hampshire squad:
Joe Weatherley is the only addition to the side who opened the campaign against Essex on Sunday, replacing Tom Alsop, who retired ill on 84 runs.
Adam Wheater will be hoping to continue the form he showed against Essex, having excelled with bat and gloves at the The Ageas Bowl, hitting 90 runs and removing three batsmen with fast hands. Ryan Stevenson made an impression with the ball on his List-A debut, taking just four deliveries to claim his first List-A wicket.
Former Middlesex player Gareth Berg returns to his home ground, where he took five wickets against England U19s in 2008.
Sean Ervine continues as stand-in skipper in James Vince’s absence, and looked in good touch in Hampshire’s opening defeat to Essex Eagles Sunday, scoring 36 at the The Ageas Bowl.
The Opposition:
Middlesex one-day Captain James Franklin is able to select from a full-strength squad, with Brendon McCullum set to make his 50 over debut.
Middlesex Squad:
James Franklin (c), James Fuller, Nick Gubbins, Tom Helm, Ryan Higgins, Dawid Malan, Brendon McCullum, Eoin Morgan, Tim Murtagh, Ravi Patel, Ollie Rayner, Toby Roland-Jones, John Simpson, Paul Stirling.
Recent form:
Hampshire opened their 2016 campaign with defeat to Essex Eagles, but a 10-wicket victory over Middlesex in the competition last year will boost confidence.
Michael Carberry (66) and Jimmy Adams (53) surpassed Middlesex’s 117-run total in August 2015, dominating a formidable line-up captained by England’s Eoin Morgan.
Hampshire's visit to Radlett CC will be Middlesex’s first involvement in the Royal London One Day Cup this summer.
