Hampshire travelled to Neath for their first outing in the Metro Bank One Day Cup, where a career best 144 not out from Nick Gubbins took a youthful Hampshire side, featuring Ben Mayes and Manny Lumsden, over the line by 72 runs.
Ben Mayes introduced himself to the One Day Cup stage with a formidable 74 from 55 balls in his 141-run partnership with Gubbins, while Manny Lumsden took 3 for 64 to halt Glamorgan's momentum throughout the day.
Hosting Essex at Utilita Bowl, Hampshire made it two wins from two as Joe Weatherley stole the show with his third List-A century in a well-managed run chase of 286, which also happened to be his personal best of 116.
With help from Tilak Varma, Hampshire gained control of the tie after Gubbins departed on 40 hoping to form a repeat of his impressive score at Glamorgan.
Hampshire fell to defeat for the first time on the road at Worcestershire, losing by 5 wickets.
A Gubbins half-century was the biggest spark in Hampshire's total of 194 all-out, which Worcestershire comfortably achieved with 5 wickets remaining.
Bouncing back from a loss at Worcestershire, Hampshire faced Leicestershire at Utilita Bowl and enacted revenge on the visitors, winning comfortably by 7 wickets thanks to Ali Orr's first List-A century in three years.
The Foxes beat Hampshire in the 2023 final before knocking them out in the quarter-final last season. Kyle Abbott's three wickets was a thorn in the Leicestershire side, keeping their score down to 252 despite fifties for Sol Budinger, Shan Masood and Ben Cox.
Hampshire travelled to The Kia Oval and stormed to a 9-wicket victory courtesy of some fantastic bowling from James Fuller (four wickets), Andrew Neale (three wickets), and youngester Manny Lumsden (two wickets).
Dismissing the hosts for 160 in 46.3 overs, Nick Gubbins lead the chase with 87 not out from 60 balls, securing Hampshire's fourth win in five Group A matches.
Another Nick Gubbins' century wasn't enough for Hampshire as Notts Outlaws beat the hosts to close up up the top of Group A of the Metro Bank One Day Cup.
Despite Gubbins becoming the first player in this year's competition to reach 500 runs from 144 not out, Jack Haynes and Haseeb Hameed lead the charge and ensured Hampshire's second loss in the Metro Bank One Day Cup campaign.
Hampshire overcame a tense finish against Derbyshire at Utilita Bowl, winning by 3 wickets with five balls remaning. A spectacular knock from Ben Mayes dragged Hampshire over the line with 62 not out from 53 balls.
Caleb Jewell caused Hampshire some problems with 98 from 96 balls before Felix Organ bowled him out and put Hampshire back in the ascendency, and on track to finish Group A strongly.
Fletcha Middleton took the headlines at Bristol's Seat Unique Stadium with a match-winning half century securing a 5-wicket victory over Gloucestershire to secure a quarter-final place in the One Day Cup.
The match, reduced by rain to 49 overs, saw Gloucestershire post a respectable 313-7, but half centuries from Gubbins, Orr and Albert helped Middleton on his way to 92 off 95 balls.
Delighted with securing a quarter-final place in the One Day Cup, Nick Gubbins said:
"It was a really good win against a strong Gloucestershire side that don't lose too many on their home turf. We're delighted to be in the quarter-finals and are looking forward to what should be a great occasion against Middlesex."
Ali Orr's second century of the tournament guided Hampshire past MIddlesex at Radlett in the quarter-final, setting up a mouth-watering semi-final tie against Yorkshire. Batting through most of the innings, Orr struck 108 on Hampshire's way to setting a target of 230 runs.
James Fuller received the plaudits from a humble Orr following Fuller's spirited 42 helping to ease the pressure off and get Hampshire over the line.
Orr said:
"It was a massive partnership [with Fuller]. Being honest, I played second fiddle to him as he was striking them really well. When you have a guy like him down the other end, it does make it a little bit easier knowing he can absolutely whack it out the ground."
Hampshire progressed to the final of the Metro Bank One Day Cup, winning against Yorkshire by 18 runs courtesy of the DLS method.
Liam Dawson, back from international duty and thrown straight in the mix for the all-important semi-final, achieved a staggering 142 from 116 balls to set Hampshire on their way, before rain halted any further developments in the match and rendering Yorkshire's chase impossible.
An overjoyed Scott Currie said:
"It was good fun. We put them to the sword a bit and that was something we knew we were able to do. Daws [Dawson] was hitting the ball as clean as I've ever seen and we're delighted."
