Robin Smith. The Judge. A Hampshire legend.

Robin Arnold Smith "The Judge", was one of the most beloved cricketers ever to represent Hampshire and England. This video celebrates his remarkable career through some of his finest moments.

His Hampshire career spanned 21 years from 1983 to 2003, during which he scored over 31,000 runs across first-class and List A cricket. He captained the county between 1998 and 2002, and at the time of his retirement, Hampshire Chair Rod Bransgrove described him as "the most influential player in the history of Hampshire cricket."

Between 1988 and 1996, Smith played 62 Tests for England, scoring 4,236 runs at an average of 43.67, with nine centuries. He also featured in 71 ODIs, scoring 13 centuries and 43 fifties across his international career. Renowned for his fearless batting against the world's fastest bowlers, his trademark square cut remains one of cricket's most iconic shots.

He is, and always will be, a Hampshire legend. We are proud to have called him one of our own.
