Hampshire – who currently sit top of the Royal London Cup’s Group B – face third-placed Yorkshire at Scarborough on Tuesday as the group stages of this summer’s 50-over competition draw to a close.
To secure their spot at the top of Group B and progress directly to a semi-final (which would be played at The Ageas Bowl on Tuesday 30th August), Hampshire need to match or better Lancashire’s result.
Second-placed Lancashire face Kent Spitfires at Canterbury on Tuesday – should Lancashire better Hampshire’s result they will finish top of Group B and Hampshire will finish second.
Should Hampshire finish top of the group and progress directly to a semi-final this fixture would see them face the winner of the quarter-final between the 2nd place team in Group A vs the 3rd place team in Group B (a match which will take place on Friday 26th August).
Should Hampshire finish second – Nick Gubbins’ side will contest a quarter-final at The Ageas Bowl on Friday 26th August. This fixture would be against the team which finishes third in Group A - which as it stands could be any one of Sussex, Middlesex, Gloucestershire, Leicestershire, Warwickshire or Nottinghamshire.
The winner of this quarter-final would then face the team that finished top of Group A in an away semi-final on Tuesday 30th August.
Tickets for Hampshire’s quarter (Friday 26th August) or semi-final (Tuesday 30th August) at The Ageas Bowl will go on-sale on Tuesday evening following the conclusion of the group stage.
As a gesture of thanks for their excellent support during the side’s Royal London Cup campaign, 2022 Hampshire Members will not have to purchase a ticket to the upcoming quarter or semi-final at The Ageas Bowl and will instead be able to access the ground by scanning their Membership card in the turnstiles as normal.
What’s more, 2022 Hampshire Members with an annual parking pass will be able to use this pass for the quarter or semi-final and park on-site at The Ageas Bowl for free.
